A little about London King’s Cross station

King’s Cross railway station – it is located in the North-Eastern part of London, in the Borough of Camden.

King’s Cross was opened in 1852, and it was built upon the project of Lewis Cubitt and John Turnbull.

If you look at the scheme of the station, it resembles a rectangle. The main station building is located on the South side of this rectangle. The station building consists of 2 parallel vaults, under which there are railway platforms.

The main difference in the design of the station is its simplicity of design, there is no decor elements – it is built with the use of glass and concrete structures.

Under the station complex there is the King’s Cross St. Pancras Underground station, and together with the nearby St. Pancras railway station, formed one of the largest railway junctions of the country.
