London Airport Transfer

VIP airport meet and assist in London

An airport arrival can involve more than finding a car. After a long flight, on a first visit to London or when you are arranging a collection for a loved one, a clear meeting point, help with luggage and an explanation of the next steps can matter just as much.

Tell London Airport Transfer exactly what assistance is needed. We will agree the car journey and the available scope of assistance separately, so that the word “VIP” is supported by a specific description of the service.

Three different needs often described as one service

Meeting the driver after reaching an agreed public area is part of arranging the ground transfer. Additional assistance moving through the terminal requires a separate discussion: where it begins, where it ends and who provides it.

Meet & Assist within the airport’s controlled areas is another type of service. Heathrow, for example, lists separate providers of this assistance. Booking a LAT car does not book their services or authorise the driver to escort a passenger through border or airport security checks.

Describe the situation, not just a wish for “VIP” service

Tell us whether the passenger is arriving or departing, whether they know the airport, how much luggage they have and whether someone will accompany them. When meeting an elderly relative, calm communication and clear instructions may matter more than the vehicle category.

If someone is needed before the passenger reaches the arrivals hall, or you require connection assistance, a porter or another airport service, say so explicitly. We will explain which parts of the request we can confirm. Until this has been agreed, additional assistance should not be treated as included.

If airport assistance has already been booked

Provide the service provider’s name and the point where its assistance ends. The car needs to go to the place where the passenger will actually meet the driver, rather than the usual meeting location without accounting for additional services.

When a relative or assistant arranges the journey, agree the contact for the day of arrival. It helps if someone who knows the details can confirm changes to the passenger’s exit time and onward address.

What needs to be agreed separately

A VIP meeting does not in itself mean fast-track access, lounge entry, use of The Windsor or an escort to the aircraft steps. Those elements must be specified and confirmed by the particular service provider.

For reduced mobility, arrange special assistance with the airline or airport in advance. A child travelling without parents needs a separate escort plan. A standard request to “meet the passenger” does not cover these needs.

Questions about this journey

Can someone meet the passenger immediately after they leave the aircraft?

This is not a standard option within a car transfer. Airport procedures apply in controlled areas, where authorised service providers operate; the required arrangement must be confirmed separately before travel.

How does this differ from The Windsor by Heathrow?

The Windsor is Heathrow’s separate VIP service, with its own booking and scope of services. A collection by a LAT driver or a request for additional assistance does not mean this service is included.

What should I include when making an enquiry for an elderly parent?

Give the flight, destination address, contact details of the person meeting them, luggage and the specific assistance required. For mobility matters, describe practical needs without unnecessary medical documents; arrange airport assistance separately.
